Pricing

"Why are your prices in dollars if you're from Scotland?"

My prices are in dollars because the majority of my clients are from America! I specialise - currently - in drawing people's Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) characters and most people find me through a show called Critical Role, which is an American hosted D&D stream. Having my prices in dollars makes transactions and advertising much easier with this crowd and brings in more customers!

"Don't you lose money if you covert the dollars to British pound sterling?"

Yes, I do! For every $20 piece I sell - as of January 2018 - I make £14.10. I don't mind that they're not round numbers, since right now all I'm doing is trying to expand my skills whilst making people happy!

"Why did your prices go up by $5 since the last time I looked?"

I increase my prices based on demands and how I rank my capabilities! I began with low prices in the hopes of getting more footfall for my work, to be seen and shared around Facebook and other such places. Now that some people know of me and have recommended me to others - and given me 5-star ratings - I feel I can get away with an increase of $5 without extorting anyone.

Software

"What software do you use to create your digital pieces?"

I use a mixture of Photoshop CC and FireAlpaca right now for everything digital.

"Do you scan in hand-drawn images then make them digital? Or do you do it in the program?"

I do almost all of my digital work in the program from scratch, perhaps using a base here and there to make sure poses are correct. I find digital easier to work with, especially now that I have my Wacom Intuos Pro in Medium. I typically keep hand-drawn stuff for personal doodles, sketches or for work and education.

"Can you choose the size of the image in your software?"

Yes, down to the pixel! If you specifically want a piece to be printable to A3 size I can do so, or if you'd like a banner piece for your YouTube channel, I can do that too. Just give me the size requirements if you need something specific.

"Do you work in .jpeg or in .png?"

I work in both! Depending on what your purpose is for the final piece. Typically, for easiness, I send it in .jpeg first, but if you need a .png (maybe you need a transparent background?) then I can do that for you in no time!

Issues / Changes

"I have an issue with the way you've drawn *insert item/body part/etc*, it's not how I envisioned it in my head. Could you change it for me so it looks more like how I imagined?"

Yes! In fact, I offer changes for 2 weeks after I've sent you the piece - in case you're too scared to ask straight away and don't want to seem rude [which you wouldn't] - and won't charge any extra for the work! After those 2 weeks, however, I delete the original Photoshop/FireAlpaca file, and from then changes will be significantly more difficult to do. Please make sure you've sent me references for anything you really want to look a certain way, I'm an artist not a mind-reader!

"I'd like a refund, because I sent the money to you and then circumstances have changed. How do I go about this?"

Let me know! Just send me a message on Facebook or Instagram - linked at the bottom of each page - and I'll refund you the next time I'm at a computer! I try to reply quickly on Facebook, so please go there if I haven't replied to an Instagram message you've sent. My only restriction on refunds is if I've already sent you your commissioned piece.

"I have an issue with how you run your business or how you talk to me."

Please let me know if I have done something out of line or if you feel you've been cheated in any way. I try to keep everything respectful, but every person is different and I may use incorrect pronouns or speak in a way which you find uncomfortable. We can work it out if you tell me about it. You can also leave a review on my Facebook page, with your experience. I'd much rather that was not the choice you went with, but the option is there.

Other Q's

"Do you do other work than Dungeons and Dragons characters?"

Yes, I do! They are in my gallery, and I intend to branch out in future for general Concept Art.
